Welcome to Chez Daniel, located in Historic Frenchtown New Jersey! One day in January 2025 I was driving north along the The Delaware and Raritan Canal on Pennsylvania’s side when beginning to feel hungry and took the next right - it had me cross the Delaware and discover a new small-town. After being outdoors taking nature pictures and in need of a good warm meal, I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with a side of frites.
A few months later in March another visit was planned while scheduled to be in the area to document Eagles, this time tourism was prioritized. After shopping at Rock Art Revival and Frenchtown Bookshop, a simple meal in mind was ready to order. Their Caesar Salad was light enough to start with and it comes in two portions: appetizer and entree. Followed from the grill was the ‘Steak Frites’ which featured a succulent 8oz C.A.B. flat iron steak with pommes frites and complementary dipping sauces.
Mid April is when “the best Fish & Chips in the area” were had after visiting Blue Raven Records and once more Frenchtown Bookshop with Rock Art Revival. Simply put, the word on the street is true. Without hesitation should you order their Fish & Chips and kindly remind them of having the best in the area. Were it not for the appetizer of a Caesar Salad, I would have happily finished every part of this meal while dining in.
There are plenty of other food menu items to try, and future visits will be enjoyed. While shopping in Frenchtown or just passing through, do not forget to stop in at Chez Daniel for a warm hearty meal.
